Goa Museum

project overview

The Goa Museum in Panjim was restored from 2006 to 2010, with the project focused on preserving the building's historical character while introducing contemporary functionality. The scope centred on adaptive reuse, with interior layouts and spatial flow upgraded to suit modern museum requirements for Indian Custom and Excise without altering the structure's heritage identity on the outside. The result blends regional architectural detailing with functional, contemporary spaces, allowing the museum to continue serving as a cultural landmark reflecting Goa's history and artistic heritage. It has been widely published and is a popular destination for tourists.
