Led by Nilanjan Bhowal of Design Consortium, the conservation of the Sri Govindji Temple restored a vernacular terracotta structure originally built in 1846, which had suffered significant damage from earthquakes, dampness, and structural cracking over time. The project involved 16 distinct types of terracotta brick, the reconstruction of a collapsed roof using a bamboo-inspired vault, and the training of local artisans alongside traditional craftsmen brought in from Bishnupur. The restoration earned a Jury Commendation at the NDTV Design and Architecture Awards, HUDCO Design Award and IIA Award.
